What’s Happening in Park City in September?

September is arguably the best month in Utah. The days are warm, the nights are cool, and the beautiful fall colors hit some of their highest notes this month. Park City takes advantage of the first month of fall with a list of events that are perfect for the season. You can see the entire September Events Calendar here, but here are some of the highlights:

Farmer’s Markets (Every Wed. and Sun.): There are two regularly occurring open-air markets that you can participate in this time of year in Park City. The first is the Park Silly Sunday Market, which takes place right in downtown Park City. Hundreds of vendors offer unique, hand crafted goods, delicious baked goods, and fresh produce. The second is the Park City Farmers Market at Canyons resort. You can stop by every Wednesday from 12-6 pm.

Park City Film Series (Every Fri.-Sun.): Currently being held at The Prospector Lodge and Conference Center, the Park City film series gives everyone a chance to experience an eclectic range of independent feature, documentary, world and local cinema. The lineup for September includes:

  • Belle (Sept 5-7)

  • Stuart Little (Sept 6)

  • Slamdance on the Road (Sept 11)

  • Walking the Camino: Six Ways to Santiago (Sept 12-14)

Tour de Suds (Sept 21): With cooler temperatures and beautiful sunshine, September is mountain biking season around here! The Tour de Suds is a 7-mile biking celebration, complete with crazy costumes and crazier stunts. The goal of the trek is to reach Guardsman Pass, which equals an elevation gain of 2700 feet.

Gallery Stroll (Sept 26): Park City has a worldwide reputation for being a center for art and Main Street is dotted with beautiful galleries. On the last Friday of each month, the galleries open their doors to host an art walk. Local and visiting passersby are encouraged to come in, have a look around, and enjoy some refreshments.

Thriller- By Odyssey Dance Theater (Sept 26-Oct 4): The Egyptian Theater on Main Street hosts this fantastic Halloween celebration every year. Watch the Zombies get their groove on, but hurry! This show always sells out.
