Celebrating the Holidays in Park City

All of the local ski resorts will be open by the first week in December, which means visitors will be pouring into Park City to enjoy the weather and the holiday spirit. There’s no better way to celebrate the season than surrounded by the snow, the pines, and the upscale beauty of Park City. There are events being held all month long, so find something that piques your interest and participate in the spirit of the season!

An Egyptian Christmas

The Egyptian Theater on Main Street in Park City hosts a varied mix of shows and plays all year round, but they have a special focus this month: Christmas. There’s something for everyone in your family, so get the kids ready and bring them with you. Some of the shows this month include:

  • The Wind in the Willows: December 12-13

  • Holiday Spectacular and Community Singalong: December 18-20

  • Kurt Bestor Holiday Concert: December 24-25

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

December 9- Santa comes to the Park City Ice Arena, where you can watch him and the elves skate from 5-5:15 pm. Guests can visit with Santa after and enjoy treats, face painting and a Park CIty Treble Makers performance, all for free!

December 13- Santa will come down Park City Mountain Resort’s Town Lift, which will deliver him directly on to Main Street. His sled will be loaded down with presents and treats that he’ll share with his guests, starting at 5:30 pm.

December 20- Santa skis for free at Canyons Resort, so don your best red suit and hit the slopes!

December 24- Santa has booked his reservation at Deer Valley resort for this day, so hang out there to catch a glimpse of him!

The Big Night

The anticipation that will be building all month long will culminate into a magical night on December the 24th. There will be celebrations all over town, but a favorite for visitors and locals alike is the Traditional Torchlight Parade and Christmas Eve Celebration at Park City Mountain Resort. Beginning at sunset, you can drink hot cocoa, munch on cookies, and sing carols as you watch the torchlight procession carried by the Ski and Snowboard School make its way down PayDay Trail.

Party on New Years Eve

Park City boasts a nightlife that is unparalleled, even in bigger cities. The intimate venues, locally brewed spirits, and live bands make for a great celebration, especially on New Year’s Eve. Canyons Resort holds a big celebration each year as well, complete with fireworks to light up your midnight kiss!
