October in Park City

Park City is the place to be in the month of October. Warm days and cool nights are perfect for hiking and biking, the fall colors will be in full flush, and this community knows how to do Halloween up right.   • Beethoven Festival: World class musicians bring their talent to the Park City area for the Beethoven Festival October 4-9.

  • Stand-Up Utah!: The Egyptian Theater will host seven comedians in the Stand-Up Utah comedy show on October 9. We dare you not to laugh!

  • The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Put on your best costume and join the crowd at the Egyptian Theater for The Rocky Horror Picture Show on October 23.

Hit the Street

  • Farmers Market: October is your last chance to catch Park City’s Farmers Market at Canyons Resort. It is held on Wednesdays, with the last one on October 15.

  • Sleepy Hollow Haunted Wagon Ride: Soldier’s Hollow is hosting a haunted wagon ride throughout the month of October. The area is rumored to be haunted by the headless horseman, so watch out!

  • Business After Hours: Local Park City businesses host after hours mixers for members of the Park City Chamber/Bureau. This month’s mixer, hosted by Aloha Ski and Snowboard, is the perfect place to make new contacts and have a little fun after hours.

Take a Drive, or a Hike, or a Ride

October is a great time to get out and enjoy all of the beauty surrounding Park City. Just pulling into town constitutes a scenic drive, and there’s more to see from there. See the fall colors in all their glory by driving along one of the following scenic routes:

  • Guardsman Pass

  • Provo Canyon

  • Alpine Loop

  • Mirror Lake Highway

  • Wolf Creek Pass

You could also skip the car altogether and head out on foot or bike to discover more of Park City. There are literally hundreds of miles of public access trails to be explored. Trail heads begin from the resorts and even right from Main Street. Take a ski lift to the top to get a jump start on your climb!
